Career Path

My career as a mental health professional focuses on working with low-income children and families, and with communities facing numerous challenging risk factors. I have experience educating and supporting parents and caregivers of children with special needs. Additionally, I have facilitated individual, group, and family therapy in outpatient settings for those experiencing mental health difficulties. I focus on a client-centered, strength-based integrative model that reviews all components of their well-being. I am dedicated to educating not only clients but also parents, ensuring an integrated approach to mental health.

Therapist with 25 years of experience. Equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences in Psychology and a Master's degree (M.Sc.) in Public Health. Certified in Domestic Violence.

Career Path

My experience as a professional began working in countries such as Colombia, Chile, and currently in the United States, with various Spanish-speaking cultures. Over the past seven years, I have worked for different organizations in Chicago. I served as a domestic violence program counselor at Centro Romero and as a Clinical Therapist at Rincón Family Services. I have experience in the evaluation and treatment of mood disorders, anxiety, and depression. My skills include cognitive-behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and integrative therapy approached from a holistic and eclectic perspective. Notable achievements include significant improvements in clients and domestic violence victims, particularly in symptom reduction and empowerment.
